MADHAVI LATHA FILES COMPLAINT AGAINST ASADUDDIN OWAISI
Madhavi Latha, the BJP candidate from Hyderabad, has recently lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India against Asaduddin Owaisi, the AIMIM chief and incumbent MP, over a video that surfaced on social media. In the video, Owaisi can be seen interacting with a butcher during his campaign in Hyderabad’s Old City, where he allegedly expressed support for beef consumption. Owaisi’s remarks in the video, where he exchanged pleasantries with the owner of a beef shop and bid them farewell with the words “Kaat te raho” (keep slaughtering). Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Latha for making solid points. My best wishes to you,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X.
Latha, a cultural activist with degrees in Public Administration and Political Science, has been actively involved in various social issues, including the campaign against instant triple talaq, which was eventually criminalized by Parliament in 2019. Apart from her activism, Latha is an entrepreneur, an NCC cadet, and a professional Bharatanatyam dancer. She also serves as the chairperson of the Hyderabad- based Virinchi Hospitals.As the BJP’s candidate in Hyderabad, Latha’s comments and actions have been gaining traction on social media, making her a notable figure in the upcoming political battle against Owaisi.
