The inauguration of the historic Ram temple in Ayodhya engulfed India in a festive atmosphere reminiscent of Diwali, with resonating Lord Ram chants, saffron flags, diyas, and firecrackers illuminating the entire country. Amidst the celebrations, union ministers and politicians marked ‘Deepotsav’ at their homes, while others took to the streets, adorning special lights and igniting firecrackers. In Chennai, Tamil Nadu, a video shared by news agency ANI depicted a large group lighting diyas on a street to celebrate ‘Deepotsav.’ The historic moment was commemorated in West Bengal, where 1,001 ‘diyas’ adorned the banks of the Kangsabati River in Midnapore.
Gujarat’s Ahmedabad witnessed the Swaminarayan Gurukul Vishwavidya Pratisthanam (SGVP) Gurukul adorned with hundreds of special lights to mark the opening of the Ram temple. The sky over Chandigarh dazzled with firecrackers, celebrating the momentous occasion.
In Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, the ‘Ram Jyoti’ was lit at the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, where people paid their tributes. In Chhattisgarh’s Raipur, earthen lamps illuminated the Kota area to signify the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram temple. The nation rejoiced in the historic moment, uniting in fervent celebrations to mark the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
